Implant Treatment

What is dental implant?

This is the process of replacing missing teeth with use of a metallic screw fabricated by titanium which acts as the root and a crown is placed above the implant. An implant looks, feels, and functions just like a natural tooth.

It is a more permanent method of replacing missing teeth since it can last a life time if it is well taken care of.

Dental implant is of greater advantage since it does not affect the adjacent teeth.

Why is dental implant the best alternative for missing teeth?

How does dental implant take place?

  1. Examination – We review your dental and medical history, we carry out a jaw bone assessment, CT scans in order to see if you are eligible for a dental implant and then we create impressions to make casts.
  2. Surgical phase – The bone is precisely prepared an the implant is then placed into the bone while you have a local anesthesia. The implant may be covered underneath the gum tissue entirely, a healing abutment will be placed on the implants or a temporary crown will be placed on the implant. If there is poor bone quality or low bone quantity, bone grafting is done in order to optimize the bone surrounding. This is done before the implant surgery.
  3. Restorative phase – A crown (which will replace the missing tooth) is then placed above the implant.
